FAQ's Relating to the COVID-19 Outbreak
As a patient, we understand that you may have some valid concerns regarding your visit to our practice during these difficult times. We hope that the following answers to some common questions will help alleviate some of the concerns.
Q1. Will I be seen if I have pain/emergency?
Please be rest assured that we will not let you suffer in pain or discomfort. We are available at all times to assist you with any of your concerns. If you cannot be seen immediately, we will prescribe the necessary medications that will make you comfortable based on your complaints. Thereafter we will accommodate you based on the schedule and see what best can be done for your situation.
Q2. What constitutes a dental emergency?
- Uncontrolled bleeding from the mouth
- Severe pain
- Swelling - either inside the mouth, on the gums or on the cheeks
- Trauma and injury to a tooth, tooth fracture, fall resulting in injury to front teeth, chin.
Q3. What dental treatment can be postponed?
- General checkups
- Cleanings
- routine fillings of teeth which are not symptomatic - braces recall visits
- cosmetic dentistry procedures
If you are unsure, please give us a call and allow us to determine the gravity of your situation and help you decide whether you need to be seen or not.
Q4. I initiated my Root canal treatment/Implant treatment/any other treatment before the lockdown and was told to come back for my visits to complete the treatment. When should I be back?
We will let you know when it would be safe for you to come back for the completion of your treatment. Currently, we are seeing only emergencies. So, in case you are undergoing any of the symptoms mentioned in Q.2, please give us a call to discuss. All other protocols mentioned in this FAQ would probably still apply once we are fully functional.
Q5. Will I be allowed entry into the clinic premises/building?
- Walk in appointments are presently not encouraged.
- Please call us to set up an appointment. You may expect some questions on your general health from us when you make the call.

Q6. What are the precautions I should be taking when I come in for my appointment?
- Please wear a mask at all times when you are in the clinic, with the exception of while you are being treated on the chair.
- This is not a time for the customary handshakes! Let us practice social distancing and avoid this bit.
- As far as possible, avoid bringing an accompanying individual to the appointment. If you absolutely must, then kindly limit it to one accompanying person.
Q7. What are the additional precautions that you will be taking for patient's safety in these times?
- As soon as you step into our clinic, your temperature and that of your accompanying individual will be registered using an infra-red non-contact thermometer by our front desk. If we find that it records over a 100 degrees F then we will have to necessarily reschedule your appointment.

Q8. What modes of payment will you be accepting?
We would prefer non-contact modes of payment through UPI or bank transfers. If you are presenting your credit/debit card to us, please allow us to sanitize it before use.
Cash payments while not encouraged will still be accepted.
Q9. How will I receive my prescriptions and post-operative instructions?
Please allow us to email and/or message the prescription to you with a complete explanation of the same. You are always welcome to call us if you have any queries regarding the prescriptions or post-operative instructions.
